Download and install the HPE iLO .net console from the HPE website at https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/softwaredetails?collectionId=MTX-dc6da387790e42be
Download the VMware ESXi installation media (ISO disk image) from the Broadcom support portal: https://www.hpe.com/us/en/servers/hpe-esxi.html
Launch the HPE ILO .net console and connect to the server’s ILO hostname e.g. SLOESX07:
Select “Virtual Drives” > “Image File CD-ROM/DVD””:
Browse to the VMware ESXi installation media downloaded in the previous step.
Restart the server and press F11 to launch the boot menu. Select “iLO Virtual CD-ROM” from the list and press enter.
ESXi installer will start:
Press Enter to continue:
The RAID1 internal storage volume should be displayed:
Select United Kingdom and press enter
Set the Root Password and press enter:
Press F11 to begin the installation:
Once the installation has completed select the “Virtual Drives” menu and select the “Image File CD-ROM/DVD” to remove the installation media:
Press enter to reboot:
Verify that the server automatically starts ESXi without any intervention (e.g. selecting it from a boot menu):
